Hope everyone has had a good week. I myself am just getting back into the swing of things because I took my two boys and several days off to visit with my grandparents who live in Sarasota, Florida. It was a great time away to be with family whom I love dearly, and I think many great memories were made.
The photo I attached to this blog is from our trip where we visited a Yayoi Kusama exhibit at Selby Botanical Gardens, one of my favorite places in the world.
As I spent several days mostly disconnected from my usual day-to-day activities, I took the opportunity to mull over some of the things I have been learning recently with regards to building this online business. And one thing I keep going back to is “how do I improve my offer?”
If you are not already familiar with Frank Kern, I’d be very surprised, as he is one of the biggest, most successful names when it comes to direct marketing. Several weeks ago I purchased his $4 bundle that included four different marketing courses. What you essentially get is four different transcripts from presentations he has given on different marketing subjects. They are lengthy, informative, and certainly worth the small price tag he offers them for.
But this is a proven strategy in marketing, which he even explains in great detail – make an offer so good to your target audience that it would seem silly not to take advantage of it. This is why free lead magnets are a good place to start in email list building. Once you get the customer on your list, you can make future offers at a much more successful rate because you have already earned goodwill by giving so much value to them. And all the while, continue to provide them with more value along the way.
I really appreciate Frank’s approach to marketing as well. He is very straight-forward and value-focused. He is very clear to whom he is speaking to what he is doing and how he thinks he can help solve your specific marketing problems.I am striving to model his approach in my own business as well.
Currently, I don’t feel like my entry-point offer is compelling or differentiating enough from the many other people offering the Roadmap course (which I introduced in a prior blog post). I need to create my own custom offer “bundle” that better fits my specific audience’s needs.
So, this week I am getting back to work on finishing the mini course I have started writing on how to set up a simple WordPress blog. Since I work better with a deadline, I am setting a target completion date for this upcoming Sunday, March 3. As my target audience will want to leverage owned assets like a blog as part of their business model, and the Roadmap course content currently does not cover how to do this task specifically, I think this would be a great freebie add-on to my offer bundle.
Some other ideas I have to bundle with my offer is a suggested first 30-day content plan for beginners just getting started, covering topics for both blog posts and social media and how to re-purpose the same content across several different platforms. This is something I wish I had when I launched my first funnel and started to promote it – only to feel like I hit a brick wall in knowing what to actually say.
I also want to provide some draft welcome email series swipes that people can use to help get their initial lead magnet email series set up – as this was something I really struggled with as well and I think I can offer some advice here also.
I have a few other ideas as well, but am going to focus on completing those three things first, tweak my offer funnel, and then see if I start to get some traction in the marketplace with this improved offer.
I am also going to generally spend more time on activities that contribute to list-building and less time on “learning.” I have a tendency to put off actually “doing the work” I need to be doing by instead studying more about how to do things better. It’s a dangerous form of procrastination because I can justify to myself that I am still being productive without actually accomplishing those activities that will actually get me closer to my goals.
My marketing mentor, Dean Holland, has warned of this many times! Seems I continue to need reminders to stay focused.
What about you? What challenges are you currently working to overcome when it comes to achieving your goals? Let me know in the comments below.
With love,
Hi Acasha,
Great information and yes, gotta stop running away from those “squirrel” moments! LOL!
Love the fact that you work well when putting yourself a deadline; I’ve incorporated that in my day-to-day routine a few years back and it’s helped me immensely.
Looking forward to reading your future entries!
Thanks, Marc! Yes, discipline is a skill we must all learn to be very good at to be successful entrepreneurs.

Acasha, my friendly advice to you would be to avoid other courses and trainings at this stage. Concentrate purely on what Dean is teaching you. Just follow his lessons week by week and just action them and practice. This is the foundation of building your business so it needs to have full attention. I’m saying this because previously I used to jump from one thing to the next and you end up doing nothing. It’s just my advice I hope you don’t mind. Thanks, Atif
Hey Atif,
I say this kindly but I think you may be misunderstanding what I am working on. This is all putting into practice that we are learning in Dean’s program. I am working on improving my offer to my audience.

Acasha,
I like that you are working on a mini course. I have recently started thinking about that as well. So my challenge includes fitting into my schedule the creation of a little mini tutorial – one of which I want to feature in my next blog post.
I usually do a good job of staying focused but it is a challenge to be juggling business activities along with my normal day-to-day life activities.
Hi, Acasha! It sounds like you have really gotten the meaning of offering value so great that it’s silly not to purchase. What you are working on sounds like it will be of great value. I think you will have great success!
Acasha,
Russel Brunson also promotes adding so much value to an offer your audience can’t not say no. He mentions that the value of one’s offer should be 10x the cost.
Also, he states that one should create an exclusive off that no can get except from you when doing affiliate marketing.
He then go on to point out that it will set you apart from others offering the same affiliate product.
This is an advanced technique that a lot of people are not really ready to implement. I commend you if you’re able to implement these things without it throwing you off track.
Have an awesome day!
